Rhythm Junction is a weekly social dance held in Minneapolis every Monday evening. I was fortunate enough to attend from its very first evening, and as the organization has changed, so has my role within it.
I went from being an attendee, to a front desk volunteer, to a competition coordinator, to a social media manager, and now to an official board member. I still manage the majority of social media posts today, but now we’ve needed to diversify - not just through Facebook and Instagram, but to places like Discord as well. Our attendees come from all demographics, so it’s important that we meet them where they’re at.
