I Wear My Memories

I was raised in a very strict, Cuban-American home. Although my feelings towards my upbringing are conflicted, the best way I can express this is through the stories I have logged throughout time. Most of these memories take place within the center of Cuban-American culture - Hialeah, FL; my birthplace.

This particular assignment asked us to focus on the idea of 'place'. My hometown was the natural choice. Each bead in the lower strand represents not only a place within Hialeah, but a specific memory I have associated with each place.
